Who is responsible for your data

This website is run by Konstantina, a private Greek language teacher based in Glyfada, Athens, Greece, trading as Greek Speaking Club. I am the data controller, which simply means I am the person responsible for the information you send me.

What I collect

Only what you type into the booking form yourself. Nothing more, and nothing hidden.

• Your name, so I know how to greet you.
• Your email address, so I can reply and send you the starter phrasebook.
• Why you want to learn Greek and your current level, so I can prepare something useful for our first lesson.
• Whether you want to join the group waiting list, if you tick that box.

I do not ask for your address, your phone number or any payment details through this website, and I never ask for sensitive personal information.

Why I am allowed to use it

Your consent. You choose to fill in the form and tick the box, and I use what you send only for the reason you sent it: to arrange your free lesson and to send you the phrasebook. You can withdraw that consent whenever you like, and it costs you nothing but an email.

If you become a student, I keep the minimum needed to run our lessons together, which at that point rests on our agreement rather than on consent alone.

Who else sees it

I keep this deliberately small. The only companies that handle your data are the tools that make the website work:

• Formspree receives the booking form and passes it to my inbox.
• Netlify hosts the website and keeps standard server logs.
• Gmail (Google) hosts my inbox, where your message arrives.
• Google Fonts serves the two typefaces used on this site. Loading a page means your browser contacts Google to fetch them, which involves your IP address.

I do not sell your data, I do not share it with advertisers, and I do not add you to any list you did not ask for.

How long I keep it

If we never end up working together, I delete your enquiry within 12 months. If you become a student, I keep our correspondence and lesson notes for as long as we work together, and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you come back. Anything I am obliged to keep for Greek tax purposes, I keep for as long as the law requires and no longer.

Cookies

This site sets no tracking cookies and no advertising cookies. There is no Facebook pixel and no advertising network here. If I ever add analytics, I will update this page first and use a privacy-friendly tool that does not follow you around the internet.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask me, at any time and free of charge, to:

• show you what I hold about you
• correct anything that is wrong
• delete it entirely
• send it to you in a portable format
• stop using it, or withdraw your consent

Email greekspeakingclub@gmail.com and I will deal with it within one month, usually much sooner. You will never need to explain why.

If you think I have handled your data badly and I have not put it right, you can complain to the Greek Data Protection Authority, the Hellenic Data Protection Authority, at dpa.gr.

Children

This website is aimed at adults. If you are under 16, please ask a parent or guardian to contact me on your behalf rather than filling in the form yourself.
