No dense legal wall. Here is exactly what I collect, why I collect it, and what you can ask me to do with it at any time.
Who is responsible for your data
This website is run by Konstantina, a private Greek language teacher based in Glyfada, Athens, Greece, trading as Greek Speaking Club. I am the data controller, which simply means I am the person responsible for the information you send me.

What I collect
Only what you type into a form or the booking calendar yourself. Nothing more, and nothing hidden.
- Your email address, if you ask for the phrasebook. No name, no level, nothing else.
- Your name and email address, if you send me a question, so I know how to greet you and where to reply.
- Why you want to learn Greek, your current level and your question, if you choose to tell me, so I can answer properly.
- Whether you want to join the group waiting list, if you tick that box.
- Whether you want to hear when something new opens up, which is a separate box on the contact form and is never ticked for you.
- Your name, email and chosen time, when you book a session through the calendar.
I do not ask for your address, your phone number or any payment details through this website, and I never ask for sensitive personal information.
Why I am allowed to use it
Your consent. You choose to fill in a form and tick the box, and I use what you send only for the reason you sent it: to answer your question, or to send you the phrasebook and let you know if something new opens up. You can withdraw that consent whenever you like, and it costs you nothing but an email.
There is no newsletter. That box exists so I can tell you if something new opens up, such as the small group speaking circles. It may be months between emails, or there may be none at all.
Sending me a question does not sign you up to emails unless you tick that second box yourself. When you book a session, I use your details to run that session, which rests on our agreement rather than on consent alone.
Who else sees it
I keep this deliberately small. The only companies that handle your data are the tools that make the website work:
- Calendly runs the booking calendar and sends your booking confirmation and video link.
- Formspree receives the contact form and passes it to my inbox.
- MailerLite holds the email addresses of people who asked for the phrasebook or ticked the box for news, and sends those occasional emails. Nothing else.
- My web host serves the website and keeps standard server logs.
- Gmail (Google) hosts my inbox, where your message arrives.
- Fonts: the typefaces are served from this website itself, so loading a page does not contact any font company.
I do not sell your data, I do not share it with advertisers, and I do not add you to any list you did not ask for.
How long I keep it
If you asked for the phrasebook, I keep your email address until you unsubscribe, and every email I send has a one click unsubscribe link. If we never end up working together, I delete your question within 12 months. If you become a student, I keep our correspondence and lesson notes for as long as we work together, and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you come back. Anything I am obliged to keep for Greek tax purposes, I keep for as long as the law requires and no longer.
Cookies
This site sets no tracking cookies and no advertising cookies. There is no Facebook pixel and no advertising network here. The booking calendar is run by Calendly, which may set its own cookies when you open it. If I ever add analytics, I will update this page first and use a privacy friendly tool.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask me, at any time and free of charge, to:
- show you what I hold about you
- correct anything that is wrong
- delete it entirely
- send it to you in a portable format
- stop using it, or withdraw your consent
Email greekspeakingclub@gmail.com and I will deal with it within one month, usually much sooner. You will never need to explain why.
If you think I have handled your data badly and I have not put it right, you can complain to the Hellenic Data Protection Authority at dpa.gr.
Children
This website is aimed at adults. If you are under 16, please ask a parent or guardian to contact me on your behalf rather than filling in a form yourself.
